Ame Son - Catalyse (2024) [Hi-Res]

Catalyse is the sole album by Ame Son, a late '60s/early '70s French underground band with ties to Daevid Allen's Bananamoon (and by extension, early Gong). Released in 1970, the album delivers genuine psychedelia marked by extended flute-led jams, fuzzed-out guitars, and even wah-wah effects on electrified flute.

While the instrumental sections shine with raw, exploratory energy, the vocal passages—featuring rough, pop-tinged singing—are less consistent, revealing the band's unpolished edge. Still, Catalyse stands as a unique and bold artifact of the French psych-rock scene.
