In recent years, Sam Akpro has emerged as one of the brightest talents on the thriving British alternative scene. Hailing from Peckham in South London, the musician combines elements of post-punk, wave, dub, jazz and trip-hop with a fascinating range of influences (from Joy Division to SAULT, via Miles Davis, Talking Heads, Cocteau Twins, Dean Blunt, Fela Kuti, Frank Ocean). Blurred, moody and sometimes dreamy, "Evenfall" paints a refreshing picture of life in the London suburbs in the twenties. It is the light, the dark and the slow passage of time in a consummate, genre-defying art form. With this beautiful debut, Sam Akpro is destined to break through in 2025.
