Ukandanz - Evil Plan (2025) [Hi-Res]

Evil Plan, the sixth album from Ukandanz, is a cosmic explosion that blends Ethiopian music, rock, noise and the experimental. Ethiopian cantor Asnake Gebreyes joins the French band to create a new interpretation of the great Ethiopian music standards of the 70s. Legends such as Tlahoun Gèssèssè, Getachew Kassa and Muluken Melesse also contribute to this album, along with Francis Falceto, director of the Ethiopiques collection. Their cover of Black Sabbath's War Pigs in Amharic demonstrates the fusion of rock and Ethiopian music. The album's other tracks maintain a balance between sonic storms and vocal soaring, paying tribute to departed elders and magnifying musical traditions. Evil Plan is a reminder of Ukandanz's unique place in the global musical landscape, blending cultures and eras in an imaginary new continent.
