Anais Drago - Relevé (Live) (2025)

The union of three instruments belonging to different families gives life to unusual sounds and colors, just as the influences that characterise the musical personalities of the three give the project wide-ranging sonorities.
From jazz to contemporary classical, from improvisation to experimentation with techniques and timbres, to folklore, the repertoire is completely new and unreleased. Each composition, divided into suites of several movements, draws inspiration from 20th Century artworks belonging to literature, painting and sculpture.
In “Relevé”, Anaïs Drago translates the poetics of artists and authors such as Paul Klee, Umberto Boccioni and Alejandro Jodorowsky into music, making it as much as possible imbued with the languages and forms of our contemporaneity.
The project, born in 2023 with the support of WeStart production centre of Novara (Italy), initially took the name “Terre Ballerine” (literally “Dancing Lands”). After the first year of concerts in festivals and venues the name turned into “Relevé”, which refers to the academic ballet jargon to indicate climbing on pointe, to underline the momentum and explosive drive that pervades their music and live performance.
