Cesar Joaniquet - Live at Jazz Cava (2025) [Hi-Res]

The music found in Live at Jazz Cava reflects a stage of maturity and stability for Cèsar Joaniquet, allowing him to deepen both his work as a composer and the development of his own language as a performer.

All of this is evident in this new album, where improvisation is the key element. Joaniquet’s compositions present well-defined musical ideas that serve as a starting point, powerfully driving this quartet to create energetic music together—where motifs intertwine, ideas anticipate one another, and the listener is directly engaged in the dialogue proposed by the group.

In this recording, Cèsar Joaniquet reunites with French double bassist Brice Soniano and Danish drummer Kasper Tom Christensen, with whom he previously recorded the acclaimed Songbook (Astropi, 2014).

This new quartet is completed by the addition of Polish pianist Artur Tuznik, the fourth member of the group, who brings a new dimension and solidifies a project that is just beginning.
