John Morgan translates his hard-working roots into a rugged, authentic country sound. Growing up in Sylva, North Carolina, he cut his teeth on the bluegrass festival circuit with his family before turning to songwriting—drawing on influences from Tony Rice to John Mayer. Now dubbed “a Music City songwriting star” by the Tennessean, Morgan has penned hits for Jon Pardi, Dustin Lynch, Thomas Rhett and, most notably, Jason Aldean—including Aldean’s #1 singles “Trouble With a Heartbreak” and the Grammy-nominated “If I Didn’t Love You” (with Carrie Underwood), plus the climbing “Whiskey Drink.” Signed by Aldean to Night Train Records/BMG Nashville, he’s made his Grand Ole Opry debut and toured with big names like Aldean, ERNEST and Riley Green.
