VA - Off the Wall: Essential Argo/Cadet Grooves (1991)

The first of the great Argo/Cadet series of comps, and one that really reflects the London obsession with jazz funk and soul jazz grooves in the early 90s. There's 10 hard instrumentals here, most of them by folks that we have a hard time turning up in the original. Monster cuts include "The Wailer" by Sonny Cox, "The Aquarian" by Harold Land, "Milestones" by The Three Souls, and the fantastic "Feel" by Buck Clarke, which is a massive stepping conga/vibes track, and is worth the price of the CD alone!
