Ujima - Collective Works (2025)

Ujima was a soul group from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 1972. Initially called The Brother Love, they soon adopted the name Ujima—a Swahili word meaning “collective work and responsibility.” The group included Carlton Robinson, Clement Burnette, Anthony Ingram, Dwight Smith, Eric Johnson, and Nick Colteran.

Known for their vibrant soul sound infused with funk and disco, the group developed a cult following among rare soul enthusiasts despite their limited discography.
