Iestyn Tyne - Carneddi (2025) [Hi-Res]

Carneddi is the debut solo album by Welsh poet and musician Iestyn Tyne, released on May 1, 2025. This concept album is inspired by Geoff Charles’ poignant 1945 photograph of Richard (Carneddog) and Catrin Griffith, an elderly couple preparing to leave their hill farm in Nantmor, Eryri, following the tragic death of their son, Hywel Wyn.

Recorded live over three days at Sain Studios in Llandwrog, the album blends traditional Welsh fiddle tunes, original compositions, hymns, and spoken verse. Tyne collaborates with musicians Gwilym Bowen Rhys, Simmy Singh, and Gwenan Gibbard, with production by Aled Wyn Hughes.
