Zé Ibarra - AFIM (2025) [Hi-Res]

Mr Bongo presents AFIM, the second solo album by rising Brazilian talent Zé Ibarra, known for his work with Bala Desejo, Dônica, and for performing with Milton Nascimento. Blending MPB, jazz, pop, and progressive rock, AFIM showcases Ibarra’s range—from intimate acoustic moments to lush cinematic orchestrations.

The album features 8 tracks, including original compositions and covers of songs by Sophia Chablau, Tom Veloso, and Dora Morelenbaum. Standouts include:

"Transe" – a nostalgic, rhythmic track reminiscent of Caetano Veloso, enhanced by Jaques Morelenbaum’s string arrangements.

"Segredo" – a reinterpretation of Chablau’s punky original into Ibarra’s own expressive style.

"Essa Confusão" – a sweeping, 70s-inspired love song co-written with Morelenbaum.

Produced with longtime collaborators including Lucas Nunes, the album features a rich ensemble of Brazilian musicians, delivering a sound that’s timeless yet forward-looking. AFIM captures Ibarra’s introspective, cinematic vision and cements his place as a standout voice in contemporary Brazilian music.
