We are thrilled to welcome Hanging Hearts to the Ropeadope gallery of progressive music. Rooted in Chicago’s tradition of forward-thinking jazz and experimental music, the trio - led by Chris Weller and featuring Cole DeGenova and Quin Kirchner - delivers a compelling fusion of jazz, rock intensity, and electronic textures. The trio describes their new album - Where’s Your Head At - as an exploration of awareness and balance, both internally and within the world at large. The album reflects on personal and collective experiences - the pursuit of dreams, fatherhood, friendship, social justice, and even aliens - while also posing a rhetorical question that invites introspection. Melding high-energy grooves with avant-garde sensibilities, Hanging Hearts continues to push the boundaries of modern jazz, solidifying their reputation as one of Chicago’s most innovative ensembles.
