SKRUK, Chorale Militaire Lova, Per Oddvar Hildre - Ei felles bøn om fred (2025) [Hi-Res]

Norwegian missionaries have been running a mission in Madagascar for over 150 years, with their work influencing Galician choral singing. The album "A common prayer for peace" by Kirkelig Kulturverksted combines traditional Gasshian songs with newly composed material, merging Norwegian and Malagasy choir traditions. The Chorale Militaire Lova, a military choir in Tulear, Madagascar, founded 30 years ago by Jean Maksera Revoma, collaborates with SKRUK, a prominent Norwegian choir known for its unique choral sound and dynamic expression. Supervisor Per Oddvar Hildre has handed the baton to Anders Rønningen, who composed and arranged the material. The project highlights the expressive power and distinctive character of both choirs, uniting their voices in a shared prayer for peace. Jan Terje Christoffersen contributed translations and lyrics, and the album was recorded in Oslo and Madagascar, produced by Erik Hillestad.
