Petit Goro - Dogon Blues from Mali (2025)

The Dogon people of Mali are known for their masks, ritual dances, and astronomical knowledge based on the orbit of Sirius B. Musician Pti Goro adapted traditional rhythms for a modern audience, becoming the first Dogon pop star. His music, combining pentatonic chords and blues, promotes the culture and identity of his people. Faced with threats from jihadists, the younger generation of Dogon is rediscovering disappearing traditions, expressing them through music and wearing national costumes. Petit Goro introduces innovative Dogon blues, drawing attention to the liberation and recognition of peoples, striving for free coexistence and peaceful movement around the world, inspiring migrants and refugees around the world.
