Durry return with This Movie Sucks, an energetic and emotionally charged follow-up to their breakout debut, Suburban Legend. Described by the Minnesota siblings as “a kick in the teeth and a nice warm hug all rolled into one,” the album blends caustic humour and genuine heart to explore the chaos of modern life — from internet toxicity and economic anxiety to grief and personal loss.

Musically, it pushes their sound further than ever, shifting between punk-powered anthems like ‘Bully’ and ‘Start a Band’ and the more tender, folk-tinged moments of ‘The Long Goodbye’ and ‘Slug Bug’. It’s a record rooted in the angst of 2000s rock but elevated by sharper songwriting and more grown-up themes.

“The process of making this record has been a dream come true,” says Austin Durry. “For the first time, we got to record in a proper studio with a complete body of work — and that freedom and energy really shines through.”
