The soundtrack to Fabrizio Terranova's documentary “Josée Andrei: An Insane Portrait” marks a nostalgic return to 16-bit aesthetics by Belgian duo Laurent Baudoux (Sun Papa) and Ann Appermans (Sage Ann). The pair form the core of Fan Club Orchestra, a group founded in 1999 that has undergone many shifts—including a ten-member Game Boy ensemble at one point.

Here, the lineup is stripped back: Baudoux leads with dreamy synths and eerie organ drones, layered over glitchy drum machine patterns, while Appermans grounds the sound with muzak-drenched bass riffs. Originally released by Sonic in 2013, the album finally gets a reissue—likely inspired by the duo’s reappearance on 12th Isle’s 2022 release ‘VL_Stay’. Even without seeing the film, this record stands on its own.
