Marc Crofts Klezmer Ensemble - Urban Myths (2025)

For the debut album of his Klezmer Ensemble, violinist Marc Crofts brings together musicians from Switzerland, France, Poland, and Bulgaria, each with diverse musical backgrounds—klezmer, Balkan, Romani, jazz, and classical. Drawing on a lost folk repertoire, Crofts has reimagined the material in an original way, blending traditional codes with the unique experiences of each musician. Urban Myths offers a subtle and joyful reinterpretation of klezmer music, striking a rich balance between tradition and innovation, performed by a tightly connected and virtuosic ensemble.
