William Scott - Peace Makers in the Summer Time (2025)

One of the more creative collaborations you’ll hear this year and a welcome reminder that music is something we all share, no matter who we are or where we live, Peace Makers in the Summer Time features two artists from opposite sides of the country—painter William Scott from San Francisco and New Jersey visual artist and musician BJ Armour—teaming up to create experimental but still accessible songs that wobble somewhere between spoken word, lo-fi R&B, and neo-soul. Scott’s contributions are reflective of the murals he paints in San Francisco, colorful and utopian; Armour’s are more pop-oriented and even playful at times despite melancholy themes. Additionally, Peace Makers in the Summer Time is the product of a collaboration between two progressive arts studios that support artists with disabilities, Creative Growth in Oakland and Studio Route 29 in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
