This CD includes tracks from a variety of 1940's radio shows. Many are tender ballads from the years of WWII and perennial favorites from earlier years. Simms' elegant phrasing and beautiful voice became well known to radio listeners for over two decades starting with the musical quiz show 'Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge.' Simm's beauty was put to good use in a number of musical films including "Playmate", "Hit The Ice" and the Cole Porter biography "Night And Day". This CD focuses on her radio performances for the greater spontaneity of radio material itself and that many selections from radio were never commercially recorded.
