Common Stars is the first fully co-composed album by Berlin’s Onom Agemo & The Disco Jumpers and Malian guitarist-vocalist Ahmed Ag Kaedy. Across six tracks, the record fuses Sahara rock, psychedelic jazz, and space-jazz improvisation. Hypnotic bass grooves, dry synth pulses, and shimmering sax and flute lines interlock with propulsive guitar riffs to craft a trance-like soundscape. Kaedy’s urgent vocals address themes of freedom, home, and Tuareg identity amid political tensions and cultural repression, lending the music both visceral energy and profound depth.
