Channeling the social conscience of Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, Sapio wraps lyrics about justice, love and self-reflection in lush strings (the very ensemble once deployed by Ennio Morricone), deep-pocket funk grooves from Motown legend Dennis Coffey, Jamiroquai guitarist Rob Harris, and a hard-hitting cameo by Boston rap veteran Ed O.G.
