Bro David - Bro David (Remixes) (2019)

The album Bro David (Remixes), released in 2019, is a collection of remixes of tracks by Belizean artist Bredda David Obi, crafted by prominent DJs and producers. Starting with his debut LP No Fear in 1984, Bredda David introduced the world to a unique Belizean groove called kungo (or cungo), blending traditional Belizean brukdown music with elements of rock, funk, calypso, and reggae. This album features reimagined tracks from his early works, including No Fear (1984), Cungo Musik (1987), and We No Wa No Kimba Ya (1990), remixed by artists such as Sol Power All-Stars, DJ Duckcomb, Justin Van Der Volgen, and Heatwave. The remixes transform the originals into dancefloor-ready tracks with influences from acid house, reggae discomix, and cosmic disco, while retaining the tropical energy of kungo.
