David Knopfler with Harry Bogdanovs - Acoustic (2011)

18 tracks - double album - mix of old and brand new material. Knopfler said 'Underland was written in a moment of quiet anger when I heard the staggering statistic about how many homes in the US were being repossessed annually.' It's one of 18 acoustic tracks soon to be released as an album called simply 'Acoustic.' Knopfler continues 'The idea we had was to essentially take our live Duo show (David Knopfler with Harry Bogdanovs) into the studio and perform it there, much in the same spirit as we might have if on stage... no overdubs... no big productions... just the singer and two acoustic guitars bouncing off each other. It was fun to do, in the full knowledge that we'd have to sit on our hands and not try to correct all the honest little gremlins live work creates. It was a very satisfying experience performing the new songs with the old and just letting the performances be whatever they wanted to be that particular day.
