Philip Rankin's debut jazz sextet album, Wild With Life, releases July 25, 2025, via Orenda Records. Inspired by the Los Angeles River’s Glendale Narrows, it blends chamber jazz, modular synthesis, and cinematic composition. The album reflects the river’s contrast of nature and urbanity, weaving layered harmonies, improvisations, and field recordings. Co-produced by Rob Shelton, it captures Rankin’s introspective melodies and the river’s cycles of drought and flooding, evoking resilience and serenity amid chaos.
