The album Star Of The East is a collaboration between Jamaican singer-songwriter Yeza and legendary selector-producer Rorystonelove, a pioneer in reggae and sound system culture. It blends roots reggae and dancehall, reflecting the cultural and social realities of Jamaica. Inspired by Yeza’s experiences growing up in Star Lane, a hub for reggae and dancehall, the album explores themes of resilience, authenticity, and overcoming socio-political challenges. The music features rich basslines, drums, and horns crafted by notable instrumentalists like Dean Fraser and the late Dannie Bassie, delivering a deep and authentic sound.
