Joachim Kühn - On Tour, 1992-1993 (2025)

A trio with a really wonderful vibe – captured here in a set of live recordings from the early 80s, a time when all three players were really resonating together with a very unique sense of energy! All three players are certainly ones who can come on strong when they want – Joachim Kuhn on piano, Daniel Humair on drums, and Jean-Francois Jenny-Clark on bass – yet here, they often really find time to open up the space between the notes – not in ways that are mellow, or in an ECM sort of style – but just to allow the bolder expressions to come across with even more bite – almost as if they open the sonic space first, then find ways to fill it on the long improvisations on the set! Titles include very unique takes on "India" and "Impressions" – plus originals "From Time To Time Free", "Guylene", and "Heavy Hanging".
