Tomoko Aran - MIND GAMES (1987)

This is the seventh album from Aomori Prefecture-born singer-songwriter Aran Tomoko, known for her many accomplishments, including hosting Beat Takeshi's TV Tackle and writing lyrics for TUBE's "Season in the Sun" and "SUMMER DREAM," among others. Composed and arranged by Tetsuro Oda, the album was co-produced by TUBE, B'Z, and Onajimi's Being founder, Hiroyuki Nagato. Featuring guitarist Kenji Kitajima of FENCE OF DEFENSE and drummer Wataru Yamada, the album mostly features a fresh, new wave/rock sound approach, making heavy use of programmed instruments. The album also includes the danceable '80s-inspired tune "PARKING -IT'S ONLY LOVE-," the refined '80s rock-esque "MIND GAMES," and the majestic winter-inspired ballad "SILENT NIGHT -Just like a ballad-." This is an album from the transition period to CDs that is surprisingly rare.
