The title is a nod to Marcus Garvey's historic Black Star Line shipping company, underscoring themes of Black heritage, self-determination, and community. The album features collaborations with artists like Vic Mensa, Lil Wayne, Smino, Joey Bada$$, Young Thug, Jazmine Sullivan, and Jay Electronica.
