Schoen is best known as The Andrews Sisters' musical director, working with them for twenty years. He also was musical director for movie studios and television.
In 1958, Vic Schoen and his band recorded with Les Brown and his band while each was in different studios, playing simultaneously and only able to see the conductor in the connecting control room with the recording of "Stereophonic Suite for Two Bands".
