Denez Prigent - Toenn-vor - Chants des sept mers (2025) [Hi-Res]

Denez Prigent, a native of the wild coast of Haut-Léon, has always had the sea in his DNA. Thirty years ago, he began working on an album paying tribute to the sea. However, the success he enjoyed at the time distracted him from this project. After more than 1,000 concerts and on the eve of his 60th birthday, he wanted to rediscover his motivation and finish the project he had started 30 years earlier. For this album, entitled “Toenn-Vor” (Sea Roof or Monster Wave in Breton), he wanted to showcase the rich repertoire of maritime Brittany. Many prestigious guests will take part in this beautiful musical journey. The album brings together various styles of songs: Gwerz (mythological Breton songs, laments in French, work songs), a nod to the songs of Jacques Brel, and a remarkable interpretation by Denez Prigent, whose unusual voice lends itself perfectly to this type of singing. The stage premiere will take place at the Paimpol sea shanty festival in front of 10,000 spectators on July 9.
