Dan Rosenboom refuses to recognise boundaries in music, and Coordinates is his most expansive statement yet. Drawing from progressive jazz, metal, symphonic and chamber traditions, the album is a dense, multi-layered exploration of identity, friendship and pattern. Inspired by cosmic time and numerical systems, Rosenboom’s compositions unfold through idiosyncratic rhythms and shifting forms, executed by a cast of 28 virtuoso musicians from across the Los Angeles jazz and film worlds.
