Vimbai Mango, Footshooter - Searching (Nzira) (2025) [Hi-Res]

"Searching (Nzira)" is the debut EP from British-Zimbabwean soul singer, producer, and composer Vimbai Mango, in collaboration with South London producer and DJ, Footshooter. The title "Nzira" translates to "the journey" in Shona, which encapsulates the project's essence as a journey of self-discovery and transformation. The album's sound is grounded in electronic textures, intricate jazz harmonies, and soulful vocal expression. The tracks feature tender sung verses woven with delicate spoken word. The project unites broken beat rhythms with African-inspired instrumentation, including the traditional mbira. The lyrics, in both English and Shona, explore themes of identity, heritage, and the power of collaboration.
