Joonas Tuuri Quartet - Pindorama (2025) [Hi-Res]

"Pindorama" is the second album from Finnish jazz double bassist and composer Joonas Tuuri and his quartet. The album's title, an indigenous name for Brazil, reflects its main source of inspiration: Tuuri's trip to the country. The record is a seamless fusion of modern Nordic jazz with rich Brazilian rhythms and melodicism. The compositions, penned by Tuuri, combine melancholic Scandinavian harmonies with the vibrant, danceable elements of samba and other Brazilian styles. The quartet, comprised of leading Finnish jazz musicians, showcases virtuousic and sensitive interplay throughout.
