"Des" is the debut album from Argentine artist and researcher Daniela Lorio, under her moniker Gua. The album is an exploration of the sound memory and landscapes of the Andean region, particularly the traditions of Northwest Argentina. In her work, Gua deconstructs and reimagines the sounds of traditional instruments such as the charango, bombo legüero, and antara (a type of panpipe), combining them with techniques of electroacoustic composition, modular synthesizers, and field recordings. The result is a hypnotic and textural ambient work, where ancient acoustic timbres are transformed into a contemporary experimental sound, blurring the lines between past and present, organic and synthetic.
