Cryin' Shame - Unfinished Business (2001)

"Unfinished Business" .... That's what it felt like. After spending the better part of a year together, 1998 - 1999. The five members of Cryin' Shame decided to go their separate ways. They finally had enough material to start seriously hunting for work when it all fell apart. All the hours of working out the songs, much of it original, had all been for naught. Or so it seemed... Several months later however, the now defunct project sparked back to life unexpectedly. ... Fate, or rather a snowstorm and freeway gridlock brought us back together. While waiting out traffic at a favorite watering hole, the guys discussed salvaging something out of all of our hard work. They may not have tore it up in the local jukes, but at the very least maybe they could satisfy some long standing goals to record a cd of of original material. Realizing that individually they may never get the chance to do it again, it was an easy decision. Several hours, and a few rounds later the snow had abated, traffic has long since thinned, and an agreement to make the cd was reached. So what you hear from this and other sites is the fruit of those ten months of labor, and years of banging away in garages and basements that preceded it. They self produced the cd primarily for themselves, their friends and families on a shoestring budget, so take it for what it's worth. You should know that all the members of Cryin' Shame come from slightly different musical backgrounds. That combined with the fact that there are numerous styles of blues adds up to a rather eclectic mix of tunes. The ten songs here touch on many of those styles spanning the blues frontier from Texas swing to acoustic Mississippi delta, and most everything in between... .... now the business is finished. Enjoy!
