"Crawl Space" by Art Farmer
This is flugelhorn/trumpet virtuoso Art Farmer's debut album for CTI. Working with keyboardist Dave Grusin, who also handled some of the arrangements, and Jeremy Steig, whose noisy flute sounds resonate throughout, this album showcases the mature and brilliant playing of a veteran.

[CTI]
Creed Taylor (1929-2022), founder of the jazz label Impulse! Records and renowned producer at Verve Records, launched CTI Records (Creed Taylor Issue) within A&M Records in 1967. Later, in 1970, the label went independent and changed its official name to Creed Taylor Incorporated. Throughout the 1970s, the label released a diverse range of albums, including those on its subsidiary labels KUDU and SALVATION. Aiming to reach not only jazz enthusiasts but also general listeners, the label brilliantly blended the artistry, experimentation, and popularity of jazz, pioneering a new trend in jazz known as crossover. Another defining feature of CTI is its ability to create a total sound created by arrangers, rather than relying on a single musician to lead each album.
