Wayne Smith, Prince Jammy - Smoker Super (2025) [Hi-Res]

On October 3rd, 2025, the VP Records label and producer King Jammy are releasing a remastered reissue of Wayne Smith's classic 1983 album, “Smoker Super,” which will be available on all digital platforms for the first time. This album is a prime example of original, pre-digital era Jamaican dancehall, recorded with live instrumentation at Prince Jammy's studio in Kingston. In contrast to the later electronic hit “Under Me Sleng Teng,” “Smoker Super” showcases a rich, organic sound and the unique ‘Waterhouse Style’ of vocals, characteristic of a young Wayne Smith. The reissue preserves the original mix in high quality, allowing a new generation of listeners to appreciate this landmark release.
