John Shannon - A Day in Tarifa (2025)

John Shannon is a guitarist and composer from Pittsburgh whose work bridges various musical worlds. His journey began at an early age, continued at Berklee College of Music, and led to a diverse career in New York City. Shannon is known for his projects, such as the jazz-fusion group Waking Vision Trio and the power-rock trio theSHIFT. After returning to his native Pittsburgh, he co-founded the jazz club Con Alma. His upcoming album, "A Day in Tarifa," scheduled for release in Fall 2025, is a meditative jazz suite. The music is inspired by both the rich jazz heritage of Pittsburgh and the atmosphere of Tarifa—a town in southern Spain where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea.
