Pahua - Cerca del Lugar (2025)

Cerca del Lugar is the second studio album by Mexican singer, producer, percussionist, and DJ Paulina "Pahua" Sotomayor, released on September 12, 2025. The record was created and released independently, emphasizing the artist's creative freedom. The album consists of ten tracks and is a blend of organic sounds, synthesizers, and rhythms inspired by Latin American and African folklore.

The recording features collaborations with musicians from various countries: Ancestral Beats (Colombia), LaTorre (Ecuador), Timpana (Bolivia), and Sol Pereyra (Argentina). Five of the ten tracks were produced by Barzo (Costa Rica). The album explores themes of femininity, connection with nature, and the search for an inner, mystical "place of power."
