Romeo Poirier - Off The Record (2025) [Hi-Res]

The new album by French musician Roméo Poirier, "Off The Record," is a musical collage created from accidental and discarded recordings from studio archives. The album consists of fourteen miniatures in which Poirier uses over a thousand "found sounds"—scraps of conversation, instructions, instrument tuning, and false starts. Like artists working in the "accumulation" technique, he assembles these sound fragments, twisting, cutting, and reassembling them into complex compositions. As a result, a universal narrative about the creative process emerges from mundane studio routine, accessible to a wide audience and transforming technical moments into an engaging musical work.
