Emerald Moon... At first glance, we find ourselves thinking that these five have changed stations on the space-time expressway, and that they should have rather got off at the 1971 station. There (and when) the heroes were named Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Alvin Lee and Ritchie Blackmore. Because while they claim their references to Thin Lizzy and Pat Benatar via a “touch of Led Zep“, we will object that if the Lizzy ascendancy is indeed patent, the Zeppelin touch sometimes turns fishy (whether it is the acoustic “III” on “Shrinking Violet Part 1” and “Hummingbird Waiting For You”, the heavy “II” on “Bad Mood”, or even “Physical Graffitti” on “Rock N’ Roll Soul” and “Hummingbird Waiting For You”, the heavy "II" on "Bad Mood", or even "Physical Graffitti" on "Rock N' Roll Soul" and " Cruel To Be Kind"). Of course, the Gorham/ Gary Moore pair (or Brian Robertson, or even Snowy White depending on your obedience) imprints its mark on the shuffle “What You're Told”, “Devil Woman”, “On & On” and the explicit titular beach, but our friends nevertheless fish out of modesty by confining their singing pearl, Vanessa Di Mauro, to Benatar alone. Because on the heavy "Worry“, she is downright tutoring Janis, Elkie Brooks and Maggie Bell, while her companions are pacing the spans of Derek & The Dominos' ”Layla“ on ”When There's A Will, There's A Way" (Allmanian slide in support). Let's list their pedigree anyway: the two six-string bass players are named Michael Benjelloun (Gaelle Buswell) and Fabrice Dutour (Back Roads, and author of eleven of the twelve originals that make up this album), while François Delacoudre (Laura Cox) and Laurent Falso (Jack Bon) respectively keep bass and drums open. With their Vanessa, they therefore combine a kind of old-fashioned supergroup, and if you are too young to know what he is talking about, then ask your uncle or grandfather, who, they still haven't recovered. Fuck, but what's happening to us, is the story stuttering or what? While waiting for a hypothetical answer, the DeLorean is waiting for you, while smoking: back to the 70's again!
