This CD, recorded in 1995 in Kansas, is perhaps one of the most complete recordings, as it includes not only a deacon, but also two clergymen.
The result is a performance approaching a liturgical reconstruction.
"From a seemingly unexpected source, a project has emerged that can be considered a serious contender for the title of Record of the Year. Charles Braffy and the Kansas City Choir...
tackled Rachmaninoff's voluminous "Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom," and the result was excellent. The choir is great in every way, especially the basses,
who fearlessly take on the low notes, perfect for deep Russian basses." New York Times
