Karen Ng - Backwards Blue (2025) [Hi-Res]

The Halocline Trance label is releasing the debut album from saxophonist and improviser Karen Ng, titled "Backwards Blue." The album is a collection of compositions that combine saxophone and electronics, resulting from a collaboration with producer David Psutka. Saxophonist and audio engineer Joseph Shabason also contributed to the recording. The project explores the interaction between acoustic and electronic sound sources, blending elements of improvisation, composition, and programming. The track titles are inspired by the concept of color, where each color is paired with an uncharacteristic adjective, creating unique sonic and conceptual landscapes.
