Van McCoy, a musician and producer since the early '60s, is best known for his 1975 disco hit "The Hustle." This single unexpectedly topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Soul charts. The song was featured on the Disco Baby album, which also included covers of popular soul, R&B, and disco hits. The album's recording with the backing band The Soul City Symphony featured future legendary musicians, including drummer Steve Gadd, who that same year recorded the drum part for Paul Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover." Van McCoy passed away in 1979 at the age of 39, leaving "The Hustle" as one of the most iconic songs of the disco era.Title: Disco Baby
