Macy Rodman - SCALD (2025) [Hi-Res]

Macy Rodman's new album, 'SCALD', shows a departure from her typical synth-pop towards a harder and gloomier sound, inspired by "femme fatale" figures. The record consists of surreal lyrical sketches in which Rodman takes on various personas. Musically, the album combines diverse influences, including post-punk, trip-hop, and electronica, creating the fullest and darkest arrangements of her career. Despite the anxious atmosphere, the album retains her signature sense of humor and satire, especially in tracks parodying indie rock culture. 'SCALD' is maximalist and experimental art-pop.
