Marina P, The Co-operators - Know Nothing About (2025)

Singer Marina P and producer Eeyun Purkins had their first in-person encounter in the back room of a music venue in the Dordogne, engaging in a deep conversation about life on the streets of Paris and Bristol, covering themes like fighting the mafia, gentrification, and daily life. This meeting served as the inspiration for their new collaborative album, 'Know Nothing About'. Set for release on October 24, 2025, the album marks Marina's return after five years and is the next chapter in her musical journey. For this project, she collaborates with the Bristol-based studio band The Co-Operators, known for their vintage sound, which complements the Italian singer's jazz and blues-infused reggae stylings. The album was produced over the course of a year between Paris and Bristol, featuring analog recording and mixing, reflecting a mission to contribute a voice from the underground to contemporary musical tradition. The musical narrative spans various genres, including up-tempo ska, roots reggae, smooth rocksteady, and a closing soul ballad.
