Listening to The Secret Ingredient Is Even More Meat, you start seeing why The Noisy have had quite a strong following on Philadelphia’s local music and performance scene.
Fronted by poet/singer Sara Mae Henke, the band has a quality touch to their camp combination of the first part of the ‘70s, David Bowie, and The Dears, that simply works across any genre and gender categorizations. The LP possesses the ability to appeal to practically anybody simply due to its quality and its potential for mainstream appeal.
It is not common to hear an album that can appeal, on a number of levels, to a wide spectrum of listeners, both in terms of the music and the lyrics, leading the masses to gladly take this artist and their work as they are. This is quite an intriguing release.
