Reagan Browne has a new EP Runnin’ Red Straight Through A Neon Light that’s 5 songs rich with electric guitar riffs and glorified expressions that sometimes work on a Springsteen edge blended with an alt-rock delivery style of the U2 variety.

Runnin’ Red Straight Through A Neon Light was produced, mixed and mastered at River Recording in Hunt Texas by Reagan. Unfortunately, Reagan reports that the studio was ruined along with the house in the Texas Hill Country floods.

“Risen with the Wind” sets out running like the wind and Reagan’s fluid vocals hit some high notes effortlessly and without stress: “just know I won’t let you go ’cause we’re risen with the wind, I’m gonna lift you up again, taking you up to a higher place to a space you’ve never been.” It’s euphoric and easy against a heartland rock rhythm and guitar foundation.

Next up is a taste of fun on “Hickup In My Giddy Up” which is a darker more devilish electric rock affair: “I ain’t gonna lie, I’m a little high, I’m gonna be all right, cause there ain’t no hiccup in my giddy up.” Cymbals crash, the organ drives and it feels like Saturday night, all right. “Livin’ With the Top Down” eases things back a bit with bright 12-string sounding guitar and shaker in an homage to a beautiful love and a beautiful life and taking a look up at the stars shining bright as the electric guitar melodies and organ rise and then bring things to a close.

“Let’s Do Crazy” is a welcome invitation to bust out: “we just need some cash and gasoline” and “let’s roll the dice, baby let’s go.” This one really amplifies that lovable Springsteen-esque power-up Jersey-style delivery.
