Ben Paterson is a Steinway Artist and an acclaimed jazz pianist, known for his joyful swing feel and impeccable style. A Philadelphia native who studied classical and jazz music, he moved to Chicago to absorb the local blend of Jazz and Blues, and is now based in New York, performing regularly worldwide. From 2005 to 2012, he performed with NEA Jazz Master Von Freeman. His extensive collaborations include working with Samara Joy, Catherine Russell, Houston Person, and others, as well as opening for Steely Dan and B.B. King. In 2018, Paterson won the Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition, and in 2019 he participated in the Oscar Peterson tribute at Jazz at Lincoln Center. In 2023, he served as the pianist on Samara Joy’s Grammy-winning album ‘Linger Awhile’. Ben has released nine albums under his own name, including recent 2024 releases such as Just The Way We Are and Cookin In The Couve'.
