Chicago-born artist keiyaA, known for her unique blend of R&B, Jazz, Electronic, and Soul, has released her new album "hooke's law." Her 2020 debut, "Forever, Ya Girl," received international acclaim from critics and peers. "hooke's law," created over five years during a time of personal and artistic oscillation, is a work of radical self-inquiry that fuses intimacy, political rage, and artistic experimentation. The album's sound features shimmering synths, kaleidoscopic jazz arrangements, and fragile R&B moments, while emotionally exploring themes of survival, resistance, and the search for peace in a world that simultaneously renders queer Black women invisible and surveilled. In line with James Baldwin's view on the artist's mission, keiyaA transforms pain and contradiction into a courageous act of artistic freedom.
