When Hilde Hefte released her first solo-album the jazz magazine Down Beat wrote: 'Hilde Hefte is making waves on the Norwegian scene'. ... And she is still making waves with her honest, personal and intimate vocal-sound. Her first CD was a tribute to Chet Baker, ''Round Chet's Midnight', and it was named the album of the year in Norways largest jazz-magazine Jazznytt. Her second CD was a tribute to the fantasic pianist Bill Evans, 'Playsong - the music of Bill Evans', and as well as her first CD, this became the album of the year in Norway. Hildes bossaHefte is her 3rd CD and is a tribute to the great Brazilian music style Bossa Nova, and the great bossa composers. The reviews have been wonderful. The Norwegian newspaper Fedrelandsvennen wrote: This CD is a masterpiece! The Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet: Dice trow 5 (5/6) Just the CD you need when it's cold outside. The Norwegian Newspaper Bergens Tidende: Dice trow 5 (5/6) Sunny from the South. Elegant, drifting, sunny, she's inviting the listener to join her in her Brazilian bossa nova - together with her Southern Norwegian accent. The Norwegian newspaper Bergens Tidende's readers opinion: Dice trow 6 (6/6) The Norwegian newspaper Toensberg Blad: Dice trow 5 (5/6) Unquestionably one of our country's best jazz vocalists. This is bossa with a sure feeling for style; lazy, laid back, pleasant, warm and at the same time exotic. A Brazilian-Norwegian project which are giving spice to cold and grey winter days. Lovely. The Norwegian newspaper Telemark Arbeiderblad: Dice trow 5 (5/6) A Record that both vocally and instrumental are ideally suited for warming up frozen souls. The Norwegian newspaper Fredrikstad Blad: Dice trow 5 (5/6) Rhythms from Brazil gets a distinctive South-Norwegian character together with a laidback Hefte and our Norwegian jazz elite behind the instruments. The Norwegian newspaper NY Tid: ...this is remarkable also because of Hilde Hefte's very good lyrics in Norwegian. This record makes you happy! The famous Norwegian poet Jan Erik Vold: This CD is fantastic! Hilde Hefte is not a beginner. She has studied music at the highly respected Barratt-Dues Music Intitute. She has been playing piano, guitar, alto saxophone, Bb clarinet and studied acting. And she was for one periode teacher at Vest-Agder Music Conservatorium. She is what they call the musicians musician.
